Poetic Message: Community Hymn Festival on July 22, 2015

rejoic6c (1)This evening’s Hymn Festival is a concert designed to stir up people to praise God, to make Christ known to our community, and to help the needy.

Take time to contemplate the presence of our Lord prior to today’s concert:

Make us one in the gathering of your children.  Awaken our souls, O Lord, to embark a journey, not our own, but as one together.  If it pleases you, Lord, grant us one voice, so we may offer the voice of the Church, not our own.

Tune our hearts to sing for joy.  Open our ears, O, Lord, to hear the hymns passed on to us as a rich heritage and new songs we will pass on to the next generation. If it pleases you, Lord, let our hearts leap for you, so we may praise you with our songs–Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs.

Show us your way in prayer.  Help us to long for hope in a hopeless world as the dark awaits dawn.  If it pleases you, O Lord, be our light, so we may find our path in the darkness.

Use us to be your vehicle in proclaiming your word.  Allow us, O Lord, to tell your great deeds in assembly.  If it pleases you, Lord, let our hands and feet make a difference in our community, so others may know Christ’s love.

Soli Deo Gloria,

Intern Pastor Young Hee Chung
